WWD controls odors without affecting anaerobic digestion, aerobic biological oxidation, BOD or algae growth.
This product utilizes the powerful waste digesting properties of natural enzymes and bacteria. It is a blend of special bacteria strains (both anaerobic and aerobic) cultured for their ability to digest and liquify organic sewage-quickly, efficiently, without odors! These potent bacteria are combining with natural enzymes to immediately break down proteins, starch carbohydrates, animal and vegetable fats and oils, and cellulose (paper) for the most effective digestion. This digestant product will establish thriving colonies of these beneficial bacteria in various sewage treatment processes Regular applications are necessary to replenish the supply of beneficial bacteria and minimize growth of unwanted bacteria that produce odors and noxious gas.
These beneficial bacteria cultures are vastly superior to naturally occurring bacteria in digesting waste. Treated systems will reduce BOD and COD faster and more efficiently, enabling the system to treat higher volumes of waste and meet stringent effluent quality requirements. It will help the treatment system to resist temporary disruptions caused by toxic effluent, while reducing odors and sludge volume. In both aerobic and anaerobic sludge digesters, digestion is more complete for less volume, easier dewatering, and higher nutrient value.
Directions: The dry bacteria and enzymes in this formula must be activated by warm water
(85o-100o)
DO NOT USE HOT WATER!! Pour this slurry directly into the waste stream where adequate mixing will be achieved.
SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANTS: Use in all treatment processes where waste digestion (biological oxidation) takes place. The usual first point of addition is immediately after the primary clarifier. Add this bacteria culture to the liquid waste as it flows from the primary clarifier into the secondary treatment system.
Trickling Filters: Use an initial treatment of 40 pounds (or 6 to 12lbs/million gallons of daily flow) through wet well of syphon tank. If necessary, repeat treatment in 48 hours. For preventative maintenance, use 3 to 6 lbs weekly for each million gallons of daily flow.
Oxidation Tank: In properly aerated tanks, use 3 to 6 lbs. for each million gallons of liquid sewage. Because of the high efficiency of these bacteria, residence times in oxidation tanks may be reduced accordingly. Sludge must be treated separately from the liquid waste after the primary clarifier:
Aerobic Digesters: Use 2 lbs/week per 1000 cubic feet of sludge. When a heavy scum blanket or grease layer is present, a double strength treatment is recommended.
Anaerobic Digesters: Use same application rate as aerobic digesters. This product works in harmony with anaerobic methane-producing bacteria to provide more complete digestion and steady gas production.
In smaller treatment plants, add to: Settling Tanks: Use 1 to 2 lbs/week for each 1000 cubic feet of capacity.
Imhoff Tanks: Use 2 lbs/week for each 1000 cubic feet of tank capacity. Distribute over surface of the solids beneath gas vents, then agitate the entire mass by paddle or water hose.
Lagoons, Oxidation Ponds, Polishing Ponds: To reduce odors and sludge build-up and improve clarification, use 1 to 2 lbs. weekly per 50,000 gallons of capacity. Disperse the digestant over the water or add through a wet well.
WET WELLS, LIFT STATIONS, SEWER MAINS & LATERALS: Add 1/2 lbs/500 cubic feet directly into the well. Digestant
must get into liquid in order to activate. Treat laterals during periods of low flow by adding through manholes:
LATERAL DIAMETER (inches)

Your BEST Source foe SAFE Sewage Treatment Products:
Available in Handy to use 16-ounce bottles with Easy Flip Top Lids Fluorescent Yellow/Green
This highly concentrated sewer tracing dye is formulated for use in all types of sewer flow studies and pollution investigations. It creates an intense fluorescent color for maximum visibility under a wide variety of conditions.
One gallon of dye will impart visible color to approximately 12,000 gallons of water. This dye contains biodegradable, non-toxic ingredients.
B.O.D., or Biochemical Oxygen Demand, is the quantity of oxygen required to oxidize the polluting substance to a biochemically inert material. As little as 1 part per million of chlorine may bring about a reduction of 2 to 3 ppm in B.O.D.. Calcium hypochlorite for this purpose may be added at virtually any point in the system.
To achieve maximum results in terms of desirable aerobic action and retardation of anaerobic decomposition, hyperchlorination should be complete. The treatment will still be of value, however, even if the amount of calcium hypochlorite applied is less than the total amount which could be utilized.
The most offensive odor encountered in sewage treatment is due to hydrogen sulfide. It is caused by the sulphate splitting bacteria normally present in sewage.
Hydrogen sulfide can be very effectively controlled by calcium hypochlorite hyperchlorination of the fresh sewage, which destroys the sulfide- producing bacteria. If the treatment of fresh sewage is not practical, calcium hypochlorite may be added at any point where the odors become objectionable. The amount required will, however, be increased, as the available chlorine in calcium hypochlorite will react not only with hydrogen sulfide, but also with other bacteria and organic material.
For a sulfide reduction of 1 ppm, from 8 to 10 ppm of available chlorine probably will be required.
Although every effort is usually made to locate treatment plants where effluent will not be the cause of problems, safe practice dictates that it should be treated to destroy harmful bacteria. Calcium hypochlorite has proven to be an effective and dependable means of destroying harmful bacteria in effluent. The amount required depends on the type of sewage to be treated. Raw sewage may require as much as 30 ppm available chlorine, while secondary treated sewage may need as little as 3 ppm. The disinfection of sewage effluent must be evaluated by determining the total number of coliform bacteria and/or fecal coliform bacteria, as determined by the Most Probable Number (MPN) procedure, of the chlorinated effluent. This must be reduced to or below the maximum permitted by the controlling regulatory jurisdiction.
On the average, satisfactory disinfection of secondary wastewater effluent can be obtained when the chlorine residual is 0.5 ppm after 15 minutes contact. Although chlorine residual is the critical factor in disinfection, the importance of correlating chlorine residual with bacterial kill must be emphasized. The MPN of the effluent, which is directly related to the water quality standards requirements, should be the final and primary standard and the chlorine residual should be considered an operating standard valid only to the extent verified by the coliform quality of the effluent.
Specifically formulated with a proprietary odor counteracting concentrate. Deodorant Granules neutralize obnoxious odors. One scoop counteracts odors in dumpsters, compactors, ash trays, waste baskets, etc. In addition to odor control, Deodorant Granules contain natural ingredients which have been proven to deter insects such as flies, bees, mosquitoes, etc. This product is non-toxic, making it user and environmentally friendly.
